Each year, French tourism in Turkey brings in more than one million euros. Each year, there are more than one million euros in aid from France to Turkey… Turkey forgets to talk about that…
    Unquote
One million or one billion euros? The figure definitely should be in billion.

  2. May that be a billion or even more.Let them get so much as to be filthy rich…and forget about us.But oh no!!!! they are worried that then we may get back the riches 100 fold more(that ,calculated of the yrs and at interest rates per annum)they confiscated from our fathers grandfathers….
Thre is no escape from JUSTICE, that I ´m certain of.matter of time….

  3. All I hear here is Armenians advocated adoption of law, they drafted the law and they supported it all the way through…. And you call it justice and maitaining public order? how could nationalism and hate towards others (the principal goal of the law) be justified???

    • Rashid, put aside the freedom of speech issue for a second, and answer this: What is hateful about objecting to the denial of a well-documented crime? Isn’t it more hateful to obstruct justice for 1.5 milllion victims of deportations, starvation, rape and massacre? No nation is above the law.

Let’s imagine for a second that you have lodged a case at the International Court of Justice and have a verdict in your favour. You still have a huge tecnical problem. You still can not charge Turkey as Turkey wasn’t available in 1915. Would your kids accept a responsibility of a crime of his mother or father? Of course not. because the crime and the punishment can be apply to the individuals who actually committed a crime so where do you stand ? Do you think about this side of the issue or you blindly believe that something will happen out of the blue? I am not even talk about a crime that a nation can commit . In the real world, a nation can not commit a crime as the nation isn’t an individual

    • John, this comment reflects a poor understanding of the facts.

First, Turkey is the successor state to the Ottoman empire and is therefore heir to its assets and debts, which includes its debt to 1.5 million Armenian victims of the genocide, not to mention the displaced and murdered Greeks, Assyrians, etc.,

Secondly, there is no statute of limitations for the prosecution of genocide.

And finally, the precedent for a nation being held accountable for the crimes committed by its leaders and military has already been set in the example of Germany and its reparations to Jews and to Israel which continue today long past the deaths of most of the guilty ‘individuals.’

What stuns me is how coldly you look for a ‘way out’ for Turkey. Peace between Turks and Armenians begins with acknowledgment and apology. Unfortunately it appears many Turks believe they are not and should not be accountable for the genocide, and they cling to Turkish ‘superiority’ over peace and truth.

And just for the record, whatever happened in Khojali, it was in no way a genocide.
Turks who cry genocide for such events are like children who demand a ‘tit for tat’ form of justice. Very immature and uninformed. Sad really.

If you had checked the records Turkey didn’t take any assets or debts of the Ottoman empire in terms of responsibilities. It flatly refused take almost everything like you load lots of things on a camel. The camel shows a growing anger but you think it will be okay. One day the camel flings out everything it has . So this is exactly what happened. Can you imagine that the Ottoman authorities couldn’t prosecute criminals and had to provide safe passage to Europe after their crime. They couldn’t prosecute their citizen as many people had so called citizenship of the western countries.

  6. Boyajian, as usual your comments are so clear & to the point unlike you know who. By the way, few years back a new ME map circulated on the internet prepared by US neo-conservatives. Wish you could find & look at it. It has been applied on Lebanon, Iraq, Libya, Egypt, soon Syria & well afterwards it will be Turkey it seems.
