News from Camp Haiastan: Executive Director Roy Callan to Retire

FRANKLIN, Mass.—The Camp Haiastan Board of Directors recently announced that Executive Director Roy Callan has retired from Camp Haiastan as of May 5, 2013. “Baron Roy,” as he is affectionately known, served as the executive director for the past 10 years and was instrumental in implementing many improvements to the camp. Callan and his wife Joy are relocating back to the Detroit area to join other family members and their brand new first grandchild. The board thanks Roy Callan for his past years of dedicated service and wish him and the entire Callan family all the best in the future.

The board has begun the search for a new executive director. The 2013 camp season—our 63rd year—will be a great one with Baron Hagop Soulakian returning for his second year as summer director. An enthusiastic staff of more than 45 counselors, staff-in-training, Armenian School teachers, and lifeguards have already been hired and will surely provide another memorable summer for our campers.

Registrations are still being accepted for all sessions. For more information, visit www.camphaiastan.org or call the camp office at 508-520-1312.
