Worcester ‘Aram’ Gomideh to Celebrate ARF Day

WORCESTER, Mass.—On Sun., Oct. 26, the Worcester “Aram” Gomideh hosts an ARF Day celebration at Val’s Restaurant in Holden, Mass. The program will feature Khajag Mgrdichian as speaker.

Mgrdichian was born in Kamishli, Syria, and has served as editor of a number of ARF publications around the world, including the Hairenik Weekly. He is a co-founder of the website www.yerakouyn.com and an IT specialist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. He has lectured extensively on the tragedy in Syria and on Armenian-Kurdish relations.

The Arev Armenian Folk Ensemble will perform patriotic songs. Active with the Boston Hamazkayin Armenian and Cultural Association, the Arev Ensemble was founded 1989 and continues under the leadership of Martin Haroutunian. The group is known widely for their authentic and emotional renditions of Armenian music. This will be the first time they are performing in Worcester.

The program will begin at 1 p.m. Tickets are $35 per person, and includes a full dinner. Reservations in advance are required. For tickets or for more information, call George Aghjayan at (774) 364-0123.
